ONU respalda a Corte Suprema para crear Comisión de la Verdad para Justicia y Paz

La Comisión estaría dirigida a protección de victimas que no están vinculadas a procesos judiciales.

Javier Hernández, representante Adjunto de la Oficina de la Alta Comisionada de la ONU para los Derechos Humanos, dijo que esa Comisión de la Verdad propuesta por la Corte Suprema no puede asumirse como un reemplazo de los tribunales que investigan los hechos que ha generado el conflicto armado en el país.
"La ONU está lista para hacer un acompañamiento a Colombia", dijo Fernández.
El pronunciamiento del delegado de Naciones Unidas se hizo en el marco del foro 'Memoria histórica verdad y justicia' organizado por la Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano", la Corte Suprema de Justicia y el Centro Internacional para la Justicia Transicional.
El Presidente de la Corte, Augusto Ibáñez, reiteró la petición hecha y dijo que existe una verdad sociología y psicológica que no recogen los expedientes judiciales y que debe ser reconstruida para que haya reconciliación y verdad en Colombia. "Son muchos hechos que ya no se pueden observar en el trámite judicial por prescripción", dijo.
Según Ibáñez, la Corte reitera la petición que hizo el Gobierno Nacional y agradeció el respaldo de los miembros de la Academia y de organismos internacionales.
La Corte plantea que este organismo debería estar integrado en gran parte por intelectuales y juristas extranjeros. La iniciativa había salido del Alto Tribunal a mediados de septiembre de este año.
Por su parte, el Vice Fiscal General de la Nación, Fernando Pareja, dijo que es importante que los resultados de las investigaciones a los que llegue esa Comisión de la Verdad sean aportados después a los procesos judiciales en curso.
